E.C.F opens Eastbourne's newest MOT facility
Eastbourne Coach Finishers Ltd or E.C.F. as its better known, is Eastbourne's longest established Accident Repair Centre. Formed in 1957, the company operates from purpose built premises in Birch Close, Eastbourne.
Over the years, E.C.F. have developed a range of services for their customers' vehicles and this has now been extended following the recent approval by V.O.S.A. (Department of Transport) on the successful installation of a brand new MOT facility - the newest MOT centre in eastbourne!
Russell Turner (Managing director) said "We're really excited about this additional service on offer for our customers and this now means that E.C.F. can look after all your vehicle needs. We've had many regular customers use us for Service & Repair over the years and we've been adding to our range of services over the past 2 years. These have included Air Con Servicing & Repairs, Smart Repairs, Wheel Refurbishment, Valeting, Computerised Wheel Alignment and Tyres. Therefore it seemed only natural to add an MOT Bay to complete the range of services our customers will ever need for their vehicle" - we're now a truly 'one stop shop'.
Operating under the name of "E.C.F. Service and Repair", the company now offers a complete range of services for your car from purchase to disposal. With the recruitment of two qualified MOT Technicians coupled with the investment in new equipment, E.C.F. Service and Repair offer unrivalled comprehensive onsite facilities for your vehicle.
Whilst the core business remains, providing a comprehensive repair facility for the vehicle bodywork from cosmetic repairs through to full resprays, E.C.F. now have dedicated MOT and Service Bays and this will enable every visitor to the business to avail themselves of the range of services on offer. Subject to availability, E.C..F will continue to offer a collection/delivery service or discounted replacement car plus a free courtesy wash.
To celebrate the opening of this new facility, E.C.F. Service and Repair have created a 'MOT special offer price - £29.95' - this represents a saving of £24.90 or 54% from the full price!

WE DID IT!
I’m pleased to report that the staff covered a total of 162.5 miles [that's equivalent to cycling to Nottingham] during the day (the target was 150 miles) with Paul Griffin our Paintshop Foreman (pictured 3rd from left) covering 12.1miles in his 30 minute slot winning the best individual prize.
However, the best news was that we’ve raised a massive £1317.03 through donations and individual sponsorship (our original target was £450). The presentation of the cheque will be made in August, when both Graham (my son) and Anthony (Sarah’s Fiancé) will be present to receive the money on behalf of the ‘Help The Hero’s’ charity.
Our special thanks go to Ben Underwood at Lloyds Health & Fitness Club at Hampden Park for loaning us the Bike for the event.
A special mention must also go to Mike Thompson – The Mayor not only for turning up to support the day but also for jumping on the bike, pedalling a few miles and wearing the ‘118 118’ wig for the camera!!! (Pictures attached).
Many thanks Annemarie from the Eastbourne Herald for publicising the event - I felt very proud of everyone involved and would like to thank them for all the effort and support.

Dear Friend and Colleague
21st June 2012
ECF are supporting this years Armed Forces Day with a ‘Sponsored Bike Ride’ being undertaken by our Staff on Friday 29th June, at our premises here in Birch Close, Eastbourne.
With the support of Ben Underwood (General Manager) of Lloyds Health Club, Hampden Park, Eastbourne, the ride will take place in our Reception starting at 9.00am and finishing at 6.00pm – Our target is to cycle 150 miles and raise £450.00 on the day.
Our Staff are each taking 30 minute slots throughout the day and we plan to invite local dignitaries to attend/take part and we hope to attract some media coverage of the event.
We have some close personal links with the Men & Women of the Armed Forces and we hope this day raises the awareness of the sterling work they all do on our behalf.
We know times are tough but if you can help support this effort, your donation will be very well received (however small). If you want to join us on the day, it would be great to see you (Tea/Coffee & Cakes available throughout the day).
I would like to thank you in anticipation of your support and look forward to hearing from you.

Following the Champagne Reception, 4 Course Dinner and Awards Presentation, the 400 attendees were entertained by Chris Barrie (Red Dwarf). This was followed by a Charity Auction in aid of St. Elizabeth Hospice Ipswich & St. Lukes Cheshire Hospice which raised in excess of £3000.
Thanks to all the staff at ECF!
Friday 26th August 2011 was the day when people in the town were encouraged to wear purple to raise money for the baby son of a soldier killed in combat.
'Wear Purple for our Para' spearheaded by Eastbourne’s mayor Carolyn Heaps helps to raise money for little Logan Prior whose father Daniel died earlier this year in Afghanistan. His parents live in Eastbourne and he is buried in the town.
Residents and workers were asked to wear purple in exchange for a £1 donation to the 'Pound for our Para Appeal' and it is hoped employers and organisations will allow staff to come in dressed in something purple.
Thanks to all the staff and visitors that supported the event at ECF which raised £275.00. The cheque was presented by Directors, staff and their families to Carolyn Heaps, Mayor of Eastbourne. (pictured)

An Eastbourne bodyshop is the 300th Accident Repair Centre to gain the BSI Kitemark certification
Eastbourne Coach Finishers based in Birch Close has become the 300th U.K. Bodyshop to gain the BSI Kitemark certification (The first in Eastbourne!) - setting the high standards that consumers - fleet managers expect when getting their cars repaired.
To gain the highly-regarded Kitemark, the vehicle body repair shops must prove that they conform to tough standards. These include strict requirements that focus on skills, repair methods, equipment and materials. All these elements are then assessed by independent BSI inspectors and must meet stringent benchmarks if the valuable Kitemark is to be awarded by BSI.
BSI is an independent body that owns and operates the Kitemark, scheme, which aims to improve quality and safety for consumers by focussing the repair sector on the continued drive for quality accident repairs.
Eastbourne Coach Finishers managed to gain the Kitemark status after eight months. It made the business re-visit everything from top to bottom. In addition the business reviewed their 27 staff to ensure they were brought up to speed to address the changes required.
Russell Turner said: "The Kitemark certification is the way forward, standardising the quality of repairers. I believe that by displaying the Kitemark symbol at our site it offers customers reassurance that they will receive an honest, fair and safe quality repair.
The Kitemark has enhanced our business and tied up any lose ends that we had in our process. In addition, the procedure was also thoroughly embraced by our team and they adopted a positive attitude toward the training and changes.”
Eastbourne Coach Finishers are also planning on expanding their business and are actively looking for another site.
Eric Friend, BSI Kitemark Certification Manager added: "We are impressed with the dedication shown by the team at Eastbourne Coach Finishers in achieving the Kitemark and we truly believe that it will benefit their organisation and their customers. By gaining the accreditation it demonstrates how serious the bodyshop is about getting critical vehicle body repair safety processes right."
